Hilton College’s Vula Programme Transforms Maths & Science in Under-Resourced Schools
Training and Impact:
- 581 teachers and 4,206 learners participated in Vula interventions.
- Grade 12 Maths teachers trained by Vula in Umgungundlovu achieved an average 13.6% higher pass rate than other schools in the district.
Resources and Accessibility:
- 250 teachers were given access to technology, and 28 schools received science equipment for experiments.
- Accommodation for 170 teachers was provided at Vula Lodges on Hilton College’s campus for workshops.
Achievements:
- 18 schools achieved over 90% pass rates in Science, with 4 schools attaining a 100% pass rate.
