Hilton College’s Vula Programme Advances Maths & Science Education in 2023
Teacher and Leadership Training:
- 145 teachers received Maths training, reaching over 3,000 students across KwaZulu-Natal (KZN).
- 15 school principals attended leadership workshops, strengthening school management and educational strategies.
Enhanced Access and Facilities:
- The Vula Lodges on campus hosted 310 teachers for professional development workshops.
- Science equipment was provided to 62 schools, benefiting over 6,000 students with essential resources for practical experiments.
Academic Achievements:
- Vula Maths teachers contributed to 76% of A-symbols in township schools in the Umgungundlovu district.
- 15 Vula schools achieved a 100% pass rate in Physical Science.
Career Development:
- The annual Vula Careers Day engaged 400 Grade 12 students, 40 teachers, and 35 exhibitors, promoting career exploration in STEM fields.
